Pearl Movements©, our bodies love to move — and life feels better when we do. Pearl Movements is not a physio program or another set of exercise drills. It’s an approach to movement and wellbeing, born from research with older adults, and designed for later life: gentle, creative, and flexible.
Pearl is about moving to music, finding flow, and reconnecting with what feels good in your body. It supports health in the fullest sense — body, mind, and spirit. Yes, movement is essential for energy, posture, and confidence, but equally important are the things that lift us: laughter, music, creativity, and moments of connection.
Where most programs stop at “exercise,” Pearl goes further. We create space for movement to be playful, expressive, and deeply personal — a source of joy as much as wellbeing.
That’s the heart of Pearl: movement that strengthens the body, lifts the spirit, and celebrates the art of living well.

We are so excited to bring you PEARL Parkinson’s
Same ingredients. Different recipe.
Just like our original PEARL Movements programme, PEARL Parkinson’s weaves in the evidence-informed NZ Super 7 strength and balance foundations. But this version has been designed with the specific movement patterns and challenges of Parkinson’s in mind.
We place particular emphasis on:
• Expansion – making movements bigger, fuller, more expressive
• Posture – supporting upright alignment and confidence
• Bilateral integration – encouraging both sides of the body to “talk” to each other
• Rhythm – using music to support timing, flow and coordination
• Ease – reducing rigidity and inviting fluidity
Rather than a set of exercises, PEARL Parkinson’s is a music-based movement experience that blends physiotherapy exercises with music to supports everyday lives in motion.
Aligned to Go©, a dance based program that complements our existing Steady As You Go classes. Pitched as the level after Steady As You Go©, these classes develop co-ordination and balance. 1 hour. $2 per time
Movement for Parkinson's and Stroke survivors, a welcoming and inclusive movement class designed to support people living with Parkinson’s, Stroke survivors and their whānau. This class is suitable for all abilities and mobilities, including those using mobility aids and wheelchairs.
What to expect?
• A 45-minute movement session focused on gentle opening and expansion through the body, postural awareness, and balance.
• A fun and uplifting atmosphere with movement and music.
• Come as you are, move in the way that suits you
• A chance to connect. After dancing, we’ll enjoy a cuppa and a chat.
