Movement Matters

Steady As You Go© is a gentle but effective strength and balance program designed to help prevent the risk of falls, with participants accessing exercises that feel right for them, mixing both sitting and standing activities.  Evidenced to enhance balance, flexibility, and strength, Steady As You Go © classes are used by Age Concern branches all across New Zealand, providing a social and friendly environment that helps participants feel physically better and more capable.  And all for $2!

Age Concern Hauraki Coromandel have several classes across the Peninsula, see below.

Join us at Whitianga Continuing Care for a lively, dance-based approach to strength and balance. Exercises are thoughtfully integrated into dance activities, including circle dances, partner dances, and hand jives. There are no restrictions to access; everyone is welcome regardless of mobility. For some, this means staying seated for the 45-minute class, while for others, it's a wonderful opportunity to get up and dance!  Song requests are welcome, and laughter is guaranteed.
